COVID-19. Auckland on lockdown. Day 3 of ( 28 ?).

New Zealand is currently at Level 4 of country's four-level COVID-19 alert system.

March 28 (day #3).

On March 25, 2020, 10:34 GMT, in the world:
Coronavirus Cases: 600,787
Deaths: 27,417
Affected 199 countries and territories around the world.

At 28 of March registered 451 cases of coronavirus in New Zealand.

Level 4 measures include:

• anyone not involved in essential work, needs to stay at home
• educational facilities are now closed
• businesses are closed, except for essential services like supermarkets, pharmacies and clinics, and lifeline utilities.

People must stay now at the same place. They must only be in physical contact with those you are living with.

Under the lockdown police have the power to stop people in the street and question why they are outside their home.
If they are not complying with the rules, action can be taken.

It is likely Level 4 measures will stay in place for a number of weeks.

Currently in Central Auckland only the essential businesses are open. Supermarkets, dairies and pharmacies remain open.

Buses and trains work pretty well. Number of passengers significantly less than usual. Also - using private vehicles for transport is allowed.

There are queues to supermarkets. But that because of restricted amount of people to be allowed inside of premises. That makes keep safe distance between shoppers.

Commercial Bay area with huge construction activities currently looks deserted. Though there are people who are running and cycling.

Grocery food deliveries – such as My Food Bag and Hello Fresh – are considered as essential and continue as long as the food is not pre-cooked.
Takeaway services are closed.
Liquor stores are closed. Wine and beer continue to be sold at supermarkets.
Activities like food and beverage production and processing, are still operate.
Freight and courier drivers are continue to transport and deliver food.
Exercise is permitted, so people can still go for a walk, run or bike through their local parks.
Children can get some activity outdoors as long as they maintain a two-metre distance from other visitors. Playgrounds closed during lockdown.

March 29 (day #4) - recorded first Covid-19 death in NZ, total cases now 514.
