A grand city-wide ceremony full of spectacular lights, fireworks and movement has opened the Rugby World Cup.
Stretching from Eden Park to the waterfront, and featuring a choir atop a city building and a pipe band at the museum, the extravaganza mixed New Zealand's mesh of many cultures.
60,000 spectators packed into Eden Park for the opening match where New Zealand team vs Tonga. And the All Blacks won 41-10, as expected.
