The Olympic village welcomes the first guests
At Monday, July 16, the first participants of the Olympic Games come to London. Here very soon will start Summer Olympic Games 2012. London Heathrow Airport is preparing to take on 10,000 more passengers than usual.
Also, today opened a laboratory for testing athletes for banned substances, which actually is the largest anti-doping operation in the history of the Games.
Participants and sports officials will drive to Olympic Village on special dedicated lanes, which are intended only for the participants of the Olympic Games, and all other vehicles from entering them is forbidden. The appearance of such "Olympic" lanes has caused heated debate in the UK.
So - from July 27 to August 12, 2012 London will host Summer Olympics.
2012 Olympics to London will be the third games in the history. Previously the British capital hosted the Olympics in 1908 and 1948.
