XXX Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. The first part. 12 photos
The scenes took 15,000 square feet. It used 12,956 sets, sound system on the one million watts and 500 speakers. Each of the guests was given 3D glasses.
At the beginning of the ceremony at the Arena stadium was built classic English countryside scenery with emerald green grass carpet, a house with smoking chimneys, water mill and even a gurgling stream. English meadow to graze cows brought, goats and sheep were grazing geese out there and running horses, birds chirping.
Gradually, the bright green lawns gave way to the modern landscape, marking the coming of the Industrial Age. More than 10,000 actors have brought to the audience the most vivid episodes of the formation of the British Empire.
After a colorful historical perspective, ending a spectacular fireworks display from the five Olympic rings, the stadium under the theme song "James Bond" helicopter appeared, from which descended two parachutists dressed as Queen Elizabeth II and the 007 James Bond.
And the real Elizabeth II in live, appeared on the stands, accompanied by her husband. To the sounds of the anthem "God Save the Queen", full of children's choir, raised the flag of Great Britain.
