Pink Lake in Senegal
It is hard to believe, but there is a lake with water which has colour of bright pink. It looks like someone poured few hundred tons of potassium permanganate into it. The lake located in Senegal. And it is called Retba.
So, why the water has such unusual colour? You may think that it caused by pollution or something similar. But in reality this is natural colour for the water.
The water in the lake so salty that in such water can survive only one type of bacteria - which gives pink colour.
All day long local residents working hard to get a salt from the lake. Backbreaking labor, but by African standards it paid decently.
