Ice dancers Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev lit up the Iceberg Skating Palace on Saturday when they kept Russia on track for gold in the inaugural Olympic Games figure skating team competition.
Performing a quickstep and slow foxtrot routine Bobrova and Soloviev placed third in the short dance which was led by Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White.
World champions Davis and White scored highest with 75.98 points with Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir second with 72.98. Bobrova and Soloviev scored third highest with 70.27.
Russia are in first place with 27 points, just a point ahead of Canada (26) with the United States moving up to third position with 20 followed by France on 17.
