Within just two days few strong earthquakes occurred in Chile.
On April 3 at the Pacific coast of Chile, the magnitude was 7.4.
Tremors have been recorded in a time 02.43 UTC. The earthquake's epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean about 40 kilometers southwest of the Chilean city of Iquique (226,000 people) at the depth about 10 km.
On Wednesday night, April 2nd, in the northern part of the Pacific coast of Chile occurred earthquake with magnitude 8.2. Six people were killed and few people are missing. At least nine people were injured in neighboring Peru. On the Chilean coast near Iquique was recorded 2.11 meter high tsunami waves about half were reported in Peru.
The tsunami after Tuesday night's quake caused the waves about 2.5 meters high in Iquique. Though it was strong enough to sink and damage many fishing boats.
The total number of evacuees due to the earthquake and tsunami - one million people. At 01.58 UTC on Thursday, occurred an earthquake of magnitude 6.4.
There have been multiple aftershocks and communications have been cut off in many of the affected areas.
