She started her professional career in triathlon in 2005.

Year 2011:
She was placed 2nd overall in the 2011 World Championship Series. During that season she won 3 races in a row - the Beijing World Championship Series Grand Final, the Yokohama World Championship Series and the Auckland World Cup.
Year 2012:
She placed 6th in the Olympic Games Triathlon in London and bronze in the World Triathlon Series.
During seven years from 2005 to 2011, Hewitt took part in 58 individual ITU competitions and achieved 48 top ten positions, among which 21 medals.
Currently Andrea Hewitt ranked world No 5.
