Auckland Triathlon 2014. Part II.

Auckland Triathlon started the very first round of the Triathlon World Series.
Women’s race started at 12.10 afternoon. The weather was perfect: +26 degrees was air temperature and water +21 degrees. 52 women participated in Auckland Triathlon 2014 elite course.
The elite course for women is 1.5 kilometer swim, 40 kilometer cycle and 10 kilometer run.
The winners:
Jodie Stimpson of Britain won the women's race in 2 hours, 8 minutes, 34 seconds.
The second place got Anne Haug of Germany who was 25 seconds later.
Two-time world champion Helen Jenkins of Britain came third a further 11 seconds behind.
Stimpson performed really well, showing her fitness on the hilly course for the cycle and running legs. She was able to ease away from the field on the run.
Haug also was well prepared and finished strongly to claim the silver medal.
The next round of the series is at Cape Town on April 27.
