Auckland Triathlon 2014, Men.
Auckland Triathlon is the first round of the Triathlon World Series men elite course started at 3.30 afternoon, April 6th.
The weather was perfect: +24 degrees was air temperature and water +21 degrees.
Three-time world champion Javier Gomez from Spain won the Auckland Triathlon 2014 with time 1hr 54min 13sec. Gomez completed the 1.5-kilometre swim, 40-kilometre cycle and 10-kilometre run in 1 hour, 54 minutes, 13 seconds.
Britain's Jonathan Brownlee was the second, his time was 20seconds behind the Gomez.
Aaron Royle finished third, 1 minute, 16 seconds behind Brownlee, edging compatriots Dan Wilson and Ryan Bailie for the bronze medal.

Gomez and Brownlee went close to each other all the bike course and most of the 10km run. And only at the last lap three-time world champion Gomez left behind his British rival.
Brownlee noted that Gomez had been too strong near the end of the run.
"As I keep saying the thing about (Gomez) is that I'm always going to see him in the race because he's going to be out at the front of the swim and he's a great cyclist and then the run."
"To be honest he destroyed me today.''
New Zealander Ryan Sissons finished sixth. This is great result and he meet the criterion of a top-eight placing to secure an automatic nomination for the New Zealand Commonwealth Games team for Glasgow.
