Nikolai Valuev is a former Russian professional boxer. Valuev is a former two-time WBA world heavyweight boxing champion, and the current record holder as the largest boxer ever to win a world title.
Valuev became a professional fighter in 1993. His pro debut was a second-round knockout of American John Morton.
He achieved the Russian heavyweight title in 1999, the PABA title in 2000, and the WBA Inter-Continental title in 2004.
Valuev propelled himself into a position to fight for a world title with victories over Bob Mirovic, Otis Tisdale, Paolo Vidoz, Gerald Nobles, Attila Levin, and Clifford Etienne.

Valuev announced his retirement from boxing in a Russian newspaper three days after the loss to Haye on 10 November 2009.
In 2010 Valuev have had serious bone and joint problems. Valuev undergo two operations that required several months on the side-lines.
Valuev confirmed in 2013 that medical advice was one of the reasons he is not planning to make a comeback in boxing
